Exploring conflict dynamics in entrepreneurial founding teams: a systematic literature review and future research agenda

New Publication – Review of Entrepreneurship

We are pleased to share our latest article: “Exploring conflict dynamics in entrepreneurial founding teams: a systematic literature review and future research agenda”, co-authored by Yaser Ghanei, Annabelle Jaouen, Walid A. Nakara and Sylvie Sammut.

A heartfelt thank you to the Editors-in-Chief Anaïs Hamelin and Cyrine Ben-Hafaiedh, PhD for their guidance, and to the two anonymous reviewers for their thoughtful comments, which greatly contributed to strengthening this paper.

This study provides a systematic overview of research on conflicts between co-founders — a topic that remains under-explored despite its central role in new venture creation. It reviews 43 studies and highlights the need for a dedicated theoretical framework to better understand founding team dynamics (informal power, shared history, interpersonal relationships).

Why it matters: understanding these dynamics can help anticipate tensions and build stronger entrepreneurial teams.
