Proud to share our new research article authored by Clara Douaihy, Karim Messeghem, and Walid A. Nakara.
This paper introduces the concept of precarious entrepreneurial sub-ecosystems and explores how entrepreneurship unfolds under conditions of resource scarcity and social vulnerability, based on an in-depth study conducted in Montpellier, France. Drawing on a complex adaptive systems perspective, the article develops a multilevel modelhighlighting how solidarity-based coordination emerges and how spatial, social, and institutional boundaries are navigated to support precarious entrepreneurs.
The study extends entrepreneurial ecosystem theory to precarious contexts and refines the sub-ecosystem concept as a nested, adaptive, and context-dependent system.
We sincerely thank Editor-in-Chief Professor Miruna Radu-Lefebvre and the anonymous reviewers for their insightful comments and constructive feedback, which greatly contributed to improving this paper.
